Carter Johnston (b.1988) grew up in Houston, TX and now lives and works in Austin, TX. He is currently photographing for the New York Times. In 2010, Johnston received his BFA in Fine Art Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. His work has been exhibited nationally, including exhibitions at Jules-Maeght Gallery in San Francisco and the David Brower Center, where his work is included in the Center's permanent collection. While living in the San Francisco Bay Area, Johnston printed museum and gallery collections for several internationally renowned photographers such as Mike Brodie, Tammy Rae Carland, Janet Delaney, Lukas Felzmann, Lucas Foglia, Jim Goldberg, Todd Hido, Mike Light, Matt Lipps, Reagan Louie, Paul Schiek, and Catherine Wagner, as well as galleries/museums such as Pier 24 and SFMOMA.
