Inside a car, an intimate and passing quality exists unique from outside the vehicle. While traveling, many factors can create a barrier between the passenger and the outside world. This barrier is most often breached by physical obstructions or collisions, which in turn can bring passengers back to what is going on outside. I am curious as to when this sense of privacy is lost and when the outside world becomes a factor in our thoughts. This work borders on the line of voyeurism, but technically does not break any laws. Photography freezes these “private” moments that can be, in some situations, incriminating to the people inside. This act of photographing strangers in their perceived sense of privacy raises concerns regarding security and privacy.
